The Valais 4000s with the Mischabel Group and Weisshorn

Technically demanding, panoramic T4 hike high above the Heida village of Visperminen

Highest vineyards in Europe with Valais tradition and 4000m view

The mountain village of Visperminen is located at the valley entrance of the front Vispertal and is known for its white wine Heida (a Savagnin), which grows on one of the highest vineyards in Europe. You get into a blissful mood all by yourself on the ridge route to the Ochsehorn. This offers a gigantic panoramic view of the Bernese Alps with the Bietschhorn and Aletsch glacier, Monte Leone and the 4000-meter peaks of Fletschhorn, Mischabelgruppe and Weisshorn in the Valais.
We climb the summit of the Ochsenhorn with a few technically demanding, exposed, easy climbing passages that give the spice of this alpine hike. On the way back through the lonely Nanz valley, wine takes over again, in the form of the Suone Heido. From the time of the pagans, i.e. even before the evangelization, this water channel already brought the precious wet from the Gamsa glacier to the thirsty vines, which are said to have grown up to the Gibidum.
